**Powerful New Short Musical Film Project**

The Australian Voice Collective (AVC) is excited to announce auditions for their groundbreaking new short musical film that aims to make a statement against Australia’s harsh refugee policies.

AVC has a long history of creating new live and video musical works that raise awareness and fight against social issues and injustices.

PROJECT DETAILS

This project is a short film set to music.

The Music: AVC has commissioned a new arrangement of the powerful 80s power rock ballad 'Cry Little Sister' for the soundtrack of the film. Performers will work together during the rehearsal period, and then record this track before filming.

The Story: Performers will play the role of a group of young people discovering some of the shocking stories that have risen out of Federal Government policies such as Stop The Boats and Offshore Detention – policies many young people are not aware of. As the characters in the story discover more, they want to do more to rise up against them in protest.

CASTING DETAILS

We are calling for

Performers aged 15 to 20 (approximate):

• 2 x altos
• 2 x tenors
• 2 x sopranos

to join our existing talented ensemble.

We would gladly meet any bass or baritone singers who may also be interested in joining us.

If you have a captivating voice that can convey emotion and depth, we want to hear from you! You don’t need to have loads of experience, but do need to be able to sing in tune and sing while others harmonise with you.

Experience in singing for performance and being able to read music is desirable, but not required.

If you haven’t appeared in a film before, that’s ok! Ideally you will have some prior performing/acting experience but we can support you to develop the necessary on-camera skills.
