Composer-in-Residence

The Australian Voice Collective has close relationships with a number of emerging and established composers from around Australia — and we are very excited to launch our Composer-in-Residence initiative.

AVC will work throughout the year with the Composer-in-Residence on various programs including original commissions. This gives our performers the opportunity to collaborate with working composers and learn the art of creating music from concept to performance.

About Chloe

Chloe is an emerging composer graduated from the ANU School of Music. A multi-instrumentalist from a young age, she has studied violin, viola, piano and voice.

Chloe has performed in numerous concerts and musicals domestically and internationally. She has performed as a member of Gondwana Voices and as a soloist in several major works, such as Peter Sculthorpe’s Rites of Passage and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.

Chloe has developed a passion for composition. She has a natural affinity for choral music, and has written pieces for Gondwana Voices and the Song Company at the national Gondwana Composer School. She has also composed pieces for local Canberra choirs, including Woden Valley Youth Choir.

She is eclectic in her style and has written jazz pieces for members of the Royal Military Band, chamber music, and rock music. She is currently composing music for a five-part web series From Amateur to Artist and for a Sydney-based video game designer.
